Taiwo Awoniyi scores on KAA Gent Europa League debut

Taiwo Awoniyi scored his first goal for Belgian club KAA Gent in the Europa League Third round qualifying game to help the club to a 3-1 victory against Jagiellonia Białystok of Poland.

Awoniyi, who is on a season-long loan from Liverpool, helped the Belgian club progress to the Play-offs in Europe’s second tier club competition with a 4-1 aggregate win.

 

Gent will next face Brøndby in the final round of qualifiers.

The 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup winner has so far made five appearances for Gent this season.

 

Last season, the forward was on loan at Mouscron in the Jupiler League.
