Crotone of Italy attacker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) continues receiving a flood of rave reviews and accolades, following his stunning performance on his debut with the Super Eagles against DR Congo.

Though he could not score in the 1-1 draw at Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, the former Portugal-based lanky lad has been adjudged a revelation, following a cracking shot that hit the bar, incredible bursts of speed and massive mobility as well as delectable skilful touches on the ball.

While Nigerian soccer fans are proud that another star was born in The Garden City, Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr will not be left out of the avalanche of plaudits for the seven-goal hero in Serie A.

Rohr admitted that Nwankwo impressed him so much in the game, but emphasized that he was not satisfied with the performance of the fullbacks.

”I was satisfied with the performance of Simy, centre forward, because we didn’t have such a profile until yet and now we found it.

“It’s interesting. This game, we saw also that we have some problems with our fullbacks but we will work on it.

”We have another few days to be ready and to have the team, Victor Moses, Obi Mikel and Ighalo second of June in London, so I think the team will be better than today but it was interesting to see everybody play. ”

On his part, ‘Simy’ admitted that he was delighted with his performance on his full debut for the Eagles in their 1-1 draw with Democratic Republic of Congo.

‘Simy’ concluded: ”I think we had a good outing given the conditions of the game but there’s always a lot of room for improvement.

”No disappointments at all not to score, it is part of the game of football.  What is important is the work we all put in for the team and hopefully goals will come in the next opportunities.”
