Opabunmi salutes Golden Eaglets after ruthless demolition of Baby Elephants

Former Super Eagles and Golden Eaglets winger Femi Opabunmi has hailed the Nigeria U17 team for their ruthless victory over Cote d’Ivoire in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in Niger.

The Eaglets who lost 3-2 to Burkina Faso in their opening game put one foot in the semi finals with the win over the Baby Elephants.
As early as the 10th minute of play, the Nigerian team went two goals up courtesy of goals from Olakunle Olusegun and Olatomi Olaniyan.
Hassan Hussain, Oluwatimilehin Adeniyi and Akinwunmi Amoo got on the scoresheet as the five-time World champions went five goals up.
The Ivorians reduced the tally from the penalty spot.
“Congratulations to the Golden Eaglets for defeating Cote d’Ivoire,” Femi Opabunmi told Footballlive.ng.
“The coaches deserve a pat for the way they motivated the boys to come back after the loss to Burkina Faso.”
“Next up is the semi finals, which won’t be an easy task.
“But with the continuous support and prayers of all Nigerians, the Golden Eaglets will make it.
“To the team, please stay focused. You can do it.”
