Leganes of Spain summer signing, Kenneth Omeruo has disclosed that he is eagerly looking forward to his debut with his new club, but has to wait until Monday before it comes.
With Omeruo’s new club set to line out away to Athletic Bilbao in their first match of the season, the defender on loan from Chelsea is anxiously anticipating his La Li9ga debut.
Omeruo disclosed as much, as he admitted moving to Spain is a huge boost to his career, and he has already settled down fast in order to start on a high when he gets his first ever game in the Spanish top-flight league.
Omeruo’s loan contract from Chelsea to Leganes includes an option for the Spanish club to sign him permanently at the end of this campaign, which the Super Eagles star says is added motivation for him to do well at his new base.
He said: “This is huge for me. I will play in the Spanish top league and hope to contribute my own quota to my new team.
“I want to thank everyone who made this a reality. We decided to settle for Leganes because their offer suited my parent club Chelsea.
“It’s a new beginning in a new club with great sense of focus and I want to achieve something great this season.
“I have started work already and I am looking forward to the first match of the season.”
