Guardiola Clears Aguero For Action Against Nigeria

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has cleared the club’s Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero for action against Nigeria and other countries at this year’s World Cup, aqs he says the former Atletico Madrid star will be out of injury before the kick-off on June 14.

Argentina get to play Nigeria in their last group match on June 26 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, ahead of which Guardiola says Aguero will be in tip-top condition before the start of the global soccer showpiece.

Aguero had to undergo knee surgery in Barcelona and his rehabilitation is going according to plan, but the sure candidate for the Argies’ World Cup roster has not played for the Premier League champions since their loss to Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Aguero was a member of the Argentina squad at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, he is still searching for his first goal in the tournament after eight appearances.
He also faced Nigeria in the final of the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup and the Olympic Games showpiece three years later in Beijing.

Ahead of City’s Premier League clash vs Huddersfield Town, Guardiola told Manchester City’s official website: ”I have had information from [Dr Ramon] Cugat that he will arrive okay [at the World Cup]”.
