Etebo Targets Promotion With Stoke City

New arrival at Stoke City of England, Oghenekaro Etebo has declared that his main target with the club this season is to help them regain their slot in the English Premier League.

Etebo, who arrived at The Potters from CD Feirense of Portugal, after a loan spell at Las Palmas of Spain last season, said Stoke are of such a high quality that should not be playing in the second-tier division.

The former Warri Wolves dazzler and Rio 2016 Olympics bronze medallist stressed that he wants to aid Stoke’s revival, and is optimistic of a good fortune for himself and the club.

The battling midfielder, who was a revelation for Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, said he will join the rest of the team this weekend for pre-season training.

Though Etebo will miss the clash against Walsall this weekend, he hopes to with the team to Germany on Monday for a training camp, as they intensity preparation for the race to gain promotion from the English Championship.

Etebo declared gleefully: “I’m happy about my new club and I want to make things right. It will be a different terrain for me but I’m always ready for challenges and this won’t be an exception.

“Stoke is a big club and they deserve to be among the top. Playing for promotion will definitely be our priority and I’m ready for the task ahead.

“I prefer to play in the offensive role in the middle of the park because it gives me the freedom to express myself, but that is not my decision to make as the coaches will decide where best I can play to help the team achieve its aim.”
