A much improved second half performance from Ghana saw them rout Madagascar 3-0 in the opening group E 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Wednesday, at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Despite Ghana’s dominance, a combined factor of the Barea’s defence and poor finishing saw the first half end goalless.
The Black Stars emerged from the break with more gusto and not long in the second half, Mohammed Kudus fired them ahead.
Kudus, 21, in his 13th cap for the Black Stars netted his fourth senior team goal off an assists from 19 year-old Felix Afena-Gyan.
Then the provider turned goal scorer, Afena-Gyan picked up his debut senior goal in only his second cap.
Both goals, quickfire, came just three minutes apart in the Fifty-third and fifty-sixth minutes to send the Kumasi wild at the sight of the Promising talents stepping up.
Otto Addo’s men were not done and with four minutes of regulation time left, Osman Bukari (23 y/o) made it three.
The victory moved the four-time winners top of the group ahead of Angola who also won a home game on Wednesday.
Palancas Negras came from a goal down to beat Central African Republic 2-1 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.
