Young Alhassan Yusuf becoming Dependable Midfield General


The development of young Nigerian midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf has been a worthwhile watch and the Player himself is steadily ascending the heights of his potential and it’s down to the mentoring since his move to Belgium.

Yusuf joined Royal Antwerp last year from Swedish side IFK Göteborg on a four-year deal and he’s proving to be a massive asset for the Jupiler League side.
So far this season, Antwerp are unbeaten in 9 games across all competitions and Manager Marc van Bommel, an astute Midfield stalwart in his days has entrusted the 22 year-old with a starter’s spot in all the games.
Yusuf has played every minute of every game in this campaign and his qualities continue to improve with the partnership of veteran Radja Nainggolan.
Speaking on the influence of his teammates and Manager that has helped him settled well in Belgium, the youngster said it has helped his form.
“I’m in great shape and the midfield is working very well at the moment.
“The relationship with (Radja) Nainggolan and (Pieter) Gerkens is good.”
Meanwhile, ex Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld, singled out the Nigerian for praises, following Antwerp impressive start to the season.
“Alhassan reads the game well and keeps running.
“He does a fantastic job, especially with the right coaching and tactical guidelines. He started the season very well,” He said.
