Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, has expressed his admiration for the exceptional talent of Victor Boniface.

Boniface, 22, joined the German club this summer from Union St Gilloise in the Belgian Pro League and has hit the ground running for the Bundesliga side.

“He’s a great player, a special player. He’s a striker but he doesn’t just play for himself, he’s generous,” Alonso said about the Forward.

“We are really happy to have him here,” the Spaniard said ahead of his side’s clash against champions Bayern Munich.

Since his arrival at the BayArena, Boniface has made a significant impact on the team.

In the opening weeks of the current campaign, the Nigerian has emerged as one of the standout performers.

He has already contributed four goals and one assist in just three appearances for Die Werkself.

Recognizing his outstanding performances, Boniface was awarded the prestigious Bundesliga Player of the Month for August.

This accolade further solidifies his status as a rising star in German football.

Additionally, he also received the Rookie of the Month prize, highlighting his impressive debut season in the Bundesliga.
