With his 10th goal of the league campaign in a 2-2 draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in a Bundesliga 2 match on Saturday, Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah was thrilled to carry Braunschweiger Eintracht Captain’s armband.

In the match at Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer, the 32 year-old put the visitors ahead inside the opening 10 minutes of the game, but both teams ended with a share of the spoils.

“It was a huge honour to be the captain of this great club in yesterday’s game and score my 10th goal of the season,” the Forward said.

“Everything is still in our hands, and we will give everything to reach our target. Amazing support from our travelling fan.”

“It’s an unfortunate outcome for us today, also with regard to the other places.

“Still, it’s important that we didn’t lose, we played better than last week. We believe in ourselves, regardless of the points other teams get. I’m happy about my goal, the point is good for morale. This late in the season, every point counts.

“We have to keep giving everything and fight to the end.”

Anthony Ujah has started 20 games from a total of 27 appearances for Braunschweig this season in the 32 matches so far in the German second division.
