Nigeria U17 MNT head Coach, Nduka Ugbade says the Players are still elated, several days after the visit of Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi to their camp.

Ndidi was part of the Golden Eaglets set of 2013, but was cut from the FIFA U17 World Cup squad that year for failing the MRI test.

However, he was able to compete at the FIFA U20 World Cup in the same year under the tutelage of John Obuh.

On Monday, Ndidi visited the U17 players, who are currently camped in Abuja, to the amusement of the Players.

“I was very surprised too because I didn’t tell anyone that he was coming; I guess they saw him from the window while he was coming down from the vehicle, and they all rushed into my room to see him and touch him.

“It was very interesting and it touched my heart to know that he can give us such time while he just arrived for a national team assignment.

“He is just like a son to me because he has been with me since his youth days, and he has never forgotten the relationship we had. He did boost our confidence and passion as we prepare for the Nations Cup.

“I was very happy with his gesture and the boys can’t stop talking about him,” Ugbade explained.
