Wilfred Ndidi has shared his thoughts on his new attacking midfield role at Leicester City in the English Championship.

Ndidi has been thriving in this new position under the guidance of Italian manager Enzo Maresca, which has reinvigorated his performance after a dip in form last season.

Maresca’s decision to move the Midfielder from his orthodox defensive midfield position to a more advanced position is yielding dividends.

So far this season, Ndidi has contributed three goals and one assist across all competitions, his best goal contribution after 9 matches since moving to England.

“It’s been good, it’s the other side of my game,” the 26-year-old said.

“As a child growing up I’ve always been a central defender and then turning into a number six and now enjoying the number eight position.

“It’s just the way I am, having an open mind to play any position I can possibly play on the pitch. Just trying to enjoy football, be myself and enjoy football,” Ndidi told BBC Radio.
