Wilfred Ndidi returned to action in Leicester City’s pre-season and played just over an hour in the 3-1 win against Derby County on Saturday.

Ndidi picked a knock recently – before his imminent return from a lengthy injury – and missed three previous friendlies, but the 25 year-old returned to action and was named in the starting XI.

In the game, Kelechi Iheanacho drew first blood, the Forward netted in the 55th minute, but his goal was cancelled out 10 minutes later – three minutes after Ndidi was replaced.
Nonetheless, the Foxes jumped back in front through goals from Patson Daka (79′) and sealed the win late from Callum Wright’s strike in the 87th minute.
Meanwhile, a second string Leicester City team inspired by Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes pipped Preston 2-1 in another pre-season friendly.
The Derby victory was overseen by Assistant Manager Chris Davies, while Leicester City Manager Brendan Rodgers was in charge against Preston.
Leicester City will play their final pre-season friendly against Sevilla at the King Power Stadium.
