It’s a common notion that for all the good works of Super Eagles stars for their European clubs, they always tend to underperform when representing Nigeria.

However, Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze revealed to FL that African football is not so different from European games but a notable difference is the state of facilities obtainable.

Chukwueze claims because of his style of play; dribbling and creative plays, the pitch makes it difficult to execute as a footballer.

“African football is physical in Europe it’s physical also but it is normal. It’s also physical but the problem is having a good pitch to play on,” said the 25 year-old Villarreal star.

“We have so many talented players that represent Nigeria and almost everyone plays outside the country on a good pitch.”

“You can’t expect them to come and do magic on a bad pitch, you are going to struggle to control and take people on, Do you enjoy my football when I play in Spain? That’s the difference.”
