Former Nigeria midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju says the Super Eagles should worry about their next challenge, against South Africa, following the Bafana Bafana’s showing against AFCON hosts, Egypt in the round of 16.
Adepoju said the Eagles “surely” have the players to do the job but expressed concerns about the team’s recent form against South Africa.
“We should be worried and for good reasons, because they eliminated the host nation Egypt. They defeated us in the qualifiers and have enjoyed some edge in the recent meetings,” the former Super Eagles midfielder told footballlive.ng.
“I believe we have a chance against them because we have the quality in the team. More so, one can also draw inspiration from the team’s response against Cameroon, where the players showed character to fight back and win.”
