Neymar, the star of Brazil’s national football team, reportedly threatened to exclude himself from their next World Cup qualifier against Uruguay after an unusual incident during a match against Venezuela.

As Brazil played to a 1-1 draw with Venezuela, Neymar was struck on the head by a box of popcorn thrown by an irate fan.

The incident occurred as he was about to enter the tunnel after the game.

Neymar immediately looked into the stands to identify the culprit, expressed his frustration, and pointed to the individual responsible.

Subsequently, it’s claimed that the Al Hilal player demanded national team games not be played in Cuiaba again and even threatened not to participate in the upcoming match against Uruguay.

Despite the reported threat, the star did travel with his teammates to Uruguay for the qualifier.

The 31 year-old was seen training at Centenario Stadium, seemingly in good spirits.

Neymar, who recently surpassed Pele as Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer, has scored 79 goals in 127 caps for the national team since his international debut in 2010.
