When Terem Moffi joined OGC Nice in January, his stock was steady rising as one of the top talents in Ligue 1, and that development trajectory informed the decision to snub offers from other leagues.
Moffi jumped ship from FC Lorient, where he had scored 12 goals in 18 appearances, the 23 year-old has now added three more to his tally since joining Nice.
Speaking with FL, he revealed his goal target and why it was important to extend his stay in Ligue 1 despite offers from other leagues including the EPL.
“I’m trying to get to at least 20 to 25 goals this season, but this is not the main issue that made me stay in France. This is football; it’s chess not checkers, you have to be strategic with your moves and with your decisions,” Moffi explained.
“So, I feel like I made the right decision not going to the Prem or going to another country. I feel like this is where my heart is and where I think I will do bigger stuff.”
