Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey could seal a move to Premier League side Fulham in the coming days, after Ajax manager Maurice Steijn made it clear that the Player would be better off leaving the club.

Fulham have reportedly tabled a bid of €21 million for Bassey, and the clubs have agreed upon the fee.

The move looks like it would be quickly completed in order to give Ajax ample time to move on with their search for a replacement.

“I told Calvin Bassey it would be better to leave Ajax,” Steijn explained to the Telegraaf.

“Also because of the money. When he leaves — we can strengthen the squad properly. I have told him this honestly.”

With Ola Aina recently completing a move to Nottingham Forest, the 23 year-old would become the latest Nigerian International to complete a move to the PL.
