Victor Osimhen admits the protective face mask has become an identity and will wear it while on international duty also.

Osimhen sustained a serious facial injury back in 2021; a fractured eye socket and needed surgery, which kept him out of action for three months.

He returned with goals in him and has been in impressive form for not only Napoli but for the National team as well.

He scored four goals in his last appearance for the country in their 10-0 AFCON qualifiers win against Sao Tome and Principe in Morocco.

In a chat with FL, he hinted at bringing replicas of his mask, an item that has grown in popularity in Italy, and particularly among Napoli fans and the city of Naples.

“Of course, no wahala, I’ve been thinking about it but it’s good as it is now my identity; what people now recognize as a part of me,” Osimhen said.

“I’m really happy about it and I want to use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who has been supporting me, it’s not easy and I definitely see everything, I appreciate it. God bless you all, once again thank you.”
