Semi Ajayi was on parade for West Brom in Saturday’s 3-2 comeback win against Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s in the Championship.
Ajayi, who was handed his 22nd league appearance, put in a good shift to help his side grab their 14th win of the campaign.
The Baggies returned to winning ways following midweek’s disappointing 1-1 away draw against bottom side Wigan Athletic.
Birmingham rushed into an early lead after Lukas Jutkiewicz found the back of the net in third minute while Grady Diangana put the visitors back on level terms seven minutes later to end the first half square.
On resumption of the second half, Harlee Dean restored Birmingham’s lead with his 47th minute effort while Charlie Austin’s brace in the 73rd and 81st minutes ensured Slaven Bilić’s side left St Andrews with all the three points.
Ajayi made two tackles, two interceptions, three clearances and had 55 touches to post a decent performance.
The Nigeria international will hope to maintain his good defensive display when his side face Brentford next Saturday.
