Head coach of Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles Imama Amapakabo was full of praises for his boys after the 5-0 bashing of Sudan at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Tuesday.

Ndifreke Effiong scored twice while Sunday Faleye, Taiwo Awoniyi and Sunusi Ibrahim were also on the scorer’s sheet to give Nigeria a 5-1 aggregate victory; after their 1-0 loss in the first-leg.

The victory takes Nigeria through to the U23 Africa Cup of Nations coming up later in Egypt, where the top three teams will qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games football event.

“We had little information about Sudan before the first-leg, the materials I got was in Arabic and it was difficult to translate,” Imama told footballlive.ng.

“Unfortunately, we lost, but we got the idea of who they are and we did the job.

“The boys did very well, they knew they needed to score goals and they did, interpreting the instructions was smooth and we have the reward.”

The coach confirmed that he is extremely happy with the current crop of players he has and has hinted he intends to stick with the same squad, if he is unable to get reinforcements among the Country’s plethora of foreign based players.
