Akwa United’s head coach, Fatai Osho commended his players for their discipline in the NPFL 0-0 draw against Bendel Insurance on Saturday.

Osho’s team displayed a strong performance that helped them secure their first point in away game this season.

This draw came after the Akwa United’s earlier struggles, with no wins in their first four games of the season.

“You can’t take anything away from Bendel Insurance team because they are well organized,” Osho told the club’s official website.

“I can remember vividly how they played in the Super Six championship playoffs in Lagos at the end of last season.

“They still have the same coach and maintain the same playing philosophy, so we came prepared with the knowledge of the team, and we told our players what to do to slow them down while looking for the chance to hit them offensively.”

Currently at the bottom of the league table, Akwa United will play against Gombe United midweek and will be looking to get their first three points of the season.
