Nigeria U20 MNT coach, Ladan Bosso has looked back at his team’s performance in their final group game at the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations and revealed the plan he had for the game.
Goals from Samson Lawal (33′) and Ibrahim Muhammad (41′) hand Nigeria a 2-0 victory against the East African nation, and it ensured the team’s passage into the knockout stages of the tournament.
Gaffer Ladan Bosso stressed, after the game, that the team’s objective is to qualify for the World Cup and that the game plan against Mozambique worked to perfection.
“We came to Egypt with the mindset of picking one of the tickets to the FIFA U-20 World Cup and the victory against Mozambique is something that we planned,” Bosso said.
“We worked for it. We have seen them play two matches in Cairo. We tried to rush them and we did just that and got our two goals in the first half.
“The second-half we introduced other players preparing them for the next stage.”
