A season after their return to the Premier League, Watford have been relegated following a narrow 1-0 defeat away courtesy a Wilfried Zaha 31st minute penalty at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Watford who are currently 19th in the standings, have six Nigerians (Emmanuel Dennis, Peter Etebo, William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Kalu) on their wage bill including Tom-Dele Bashiru who was loaned to Championship side Reading at the start of the current campaign and newly signed oalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
The Hornets had sacked their Italian Manager Claudio Ranieri on January 24, after a string of poor results which left them a spot above the bottom placed team.
However, since hiring former Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, the Hornets have managed to pick only six points (2 wins, 2 draws) from 15 league games.
Hodgson himself has announced his retirement from football at the end of the season, the 74 year-old disclosed that the deal to join the London club was on a short term basis.
Watford thus joins Norwich whose relegation from the EPL was confirmed last weekend.
