Watford clears William Troost-Ekong for World Cup qualifiers against Ghana

William Troost-Ekong has been cleared to return to action for Watford and could be available for Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs against Ghana.

Although Ekong had declared himself fit and available for selection for the double header against Ghana days after Watford Boss Roy Hodgson said in his Pre-game Presser that the CB was out for an unspecified period with an injury concern.
The 28 year-old was already named in Nigeria’s 32-man squad by head Coach Austine Eguavoen.
However, Troost-Ekong has not played for the Hornets since returning from the AFCON in Cameroon.
He was named on the bench four times, including the week he returned and on Watford’s trip to Old Trafford against Manchester United in the PL.
In a club statement released on Wednesday he was giving the all clear but isn’t expected to return to action soon.
“…William Troost-Ekong makes his return to full training today following a minor groin problem, but tomorrow’s Molineux encounter is likely to come too soon for the Nigeria captain.”
Nigeria battles West African rivals Ghana on March 25 and March 29 in a third round of the World Cup qualifiers.
