Nigeria will face Sao Tome and Principe in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.

The first round qualifying draw for the WAFCON was held in Morocco, Thursday, and Nigeria alongside several big wigs entered the qualifiers in the first round.

Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, Egypt and Algeria are among others who will vie for spots in the second round.

Meanwhile, Morocco, who’ll host the 15th edition of the tournament will not take part in the qualifiers.

On the other hand, defending champions South Africa and bronze medal winners at the last edition in 2022, Zambia were drawn bye until the second round.

The qualifiers will be on home and away basis and they get under way in August.
