Randy Waldrum has demanded his team must improve after suffering a 2-1 defeat in their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations group C opener, Monday.

Waldrum expressed his disappointment with the attitude of the team and in particular his Attackers.
Nigeria managed only three shots on target the entire game and it was partly due to the blunt attack and South Africa’s solid block defending.
Speaking in his post-match presser, the Super Falcons Coach stressed that the team had to raise its commitment ahead of the game against group C leaders Botswana – a crucial fixture.
“We knew it would be a difficult game, it is the first game of the tournament and it is a long tournament,” Waldrum said. “We have to prepare for the next games.”
“I was surprised with our performance in the attack. We got a late goal and we tried to get back in the game, we are still positive.
“I am looking forward to how we can improve, we will look at the areas we were exposed and we will make those corrections.”
Nigeria currently sit third in group C behind Botswana and South Africa.
