Villarreal missed the chance to bounce back from their defeat to Real Betis as they settled for a point in a very dramatic game against Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday.

Goals from Sevilla’s Oliver Torres (8′) and Villarreal’s midfielder Alex Baena (51′) decided the game, but there were several talking points including penalty controversies.

However, it was the hosts who would feel the chance of victory slipped through their fingers as they dominated especially towards the end of the game.

Several missed gilt edge chances saw Unai Emery’s side fail to win for the first time at home – Ciutat de Valencia – this season.

Their Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze started but was on the pitch for just under an hour before he was replaced.

Chukwueze had a good night despite not scoring, in fact he registered a single shot in his time.

However, the Winger completed 4 dribbles, 3 tackles attempted, 1 clearance and 1 aerial duel.

So far in the league this season, the 23 year-old has made just 6 appearances, but has no goals yet in the campaign.
