Victor Osimhen has now made history after he scored Napoli’s winner against Fiorentina in their first game since clinching the Scudetto.

Osimehn has now surpassed former AC Milan striker, George Weah, as the highest-scoring African in Serie A with 47 goals to his name.

The Nigerian had endured an afternoon full of frustrations as he missed a penalty three minutes into the second half.

He also had a shot come off the woodwork, but he was finally able to score and etch his name in the history books.

Osimhen made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 74th minute to redeem his earlier misses.

Then he was taken off four minutes later and was replaced by Giovanni Simeone to the applause of the home crowd.

Osimhen’s stock has taken a steady rise and the new record would certainly add to his growing reputation as one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

It is predicted that it would go even higher by the time he seals the Capocanonniere at the end of the season, if he continues his goal-scoring form.

The Napoli striker is currently on 23 goals and 4 assists, above Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinex who is on 19 goals and 5 assists.
