Forward Victor Boniface continued his impressive run in the Bundesliga, scoring his seventh goal of the season as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Cologne 3-0 at the BayArena on Sunday.

Leverkusen’s victory ensured they maintained their perfect start to the season, with Xabi Alonso’s men winning six of their seven league games.

The team scored twice in the first half through Jonas Hofmann and Jeremie Frimpong, and Boniface added a third goal in the 67th minute.

The 22-year-old Nigerian striker is now the third-highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga, trailing only Serhou Guirassy and Harry Kane.

Bayer Leverkusen retained their position at the top of the Bundesliga table with nine points from seven games.

Boniface’s impressive form in front of goal is a positive development for both his club and the Super Eagles as he continues to establish himself as a prolific scorer in one of Europe’s top leagues.
