Uzoho Under Pressure From Akpeyi, Ezenwa

Date:

Elche of Spain summer singing, Francis Odinaka Uzoho is receiving a strong challenge in the race to man the post for the Super Eagles against Seychelles, as Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi are putting a lot of pressure on him.

footballlive.ng gathered that Akpeyi and Ezenwa have both stepped up their efforts in training, as they aim to give Uzoho a stiff fight in the race for number one spot on Saturday.

Although Uzoho was the automatic pick by Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr for the World Cup, the former Depotivo La Coruna keeper might n it have similar stroll into the posts against Seychlles.

This is sequel to observations when all three goalkeepers were drilled by the coaches in a shooting session which involved the players aiming shots at them.

They all faced the outfield players during the drills and Chippa United of South Africa shot stopper, Akpeyi was the top man.

He made more saves than the other two goalkeepers with his reflex and fitness level a lot higher probably due to the fact that he has been active since the commencement of the league in South Africa .

Although Uzoho was not far off, he did not make the amount of saves Akpeyi had during the session, but Ezenwa was off pace especially when it comes to getting his position back after making a save.
