Date:

Deportivo La Coruna of Spain B-team goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho has joined the ranks of Super Eagles’ invitees, who will end up arriving late in the Nigerian camp, and is likely to miss the May 28 friendly against DR Congo.

Following earlier reports of extended breaks given Victor Moses and Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi by Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, latest information indicates that Uzoho has been excused from arriving at the Eagles’ camp on Monday due to commitments with his club.

Consequently, Uzoho may miss Nigeria’s pre-World international friendly match against DR Congo scheduled for the 28th of May, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Fabril will face Extremadura in the first leg to hold either on 19th or 20th of May with the return leg billed for the 26th or 27th of May.

The 19 year old shot-stopper has so far kept 15 clean sheets for Fabril this season in 25 games, in which he has conceded 17 goals, as his side finished second in the lower cadre Spanish Segunda B division.

In the other promotional play-off clash Athletic Club will face UE Cornella.Uzoho was in goal for the Super Eagles in their two friendly games against Poland and Serbia in March.

Fabril have confirmed Uzoho’s inclusion in the Eagles’ 30-man provisional squad as one of four goalkeepers shortlisted by Rohr on Monday.

Uzoho, who made his debut for the Eagles in a friendly against Argentina on November 14, 2017, is listed along with Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel and Dele Ajiboye.

“Francis is shortlisted among the four goalkeepers who are part of Nigeria’s pre-selection for the World Cup 2018,” the club wrote on their verified Twitter handle on Monday.
