Moses Simon and his Nantes teammates marched into the second round of the Europa League following a hard fought victory in away at Olympiacos on Thursday night.

Simon was named in Nantes’ starting XI, but the Nigerian got only forty-five minutes of action under his belt, as he was eventually taken off after the interval.

The score line was still goalless after the first half and Nantes manager Antoine Kombouare made a tactical substitution after the break.

French man Ludovic Blas was brought on in the place of Simon and the decision proved to be the game changer.

Ludovic got an assist for the first goal of the game, before finding the back of the net himself to put the visitors two goals ahead at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

Victory on Thursday night ensured the Canaries finish second in group G behind German side Freiburg.

They were one point better than Qarabag, who settled for a 1-1 draw against the group leaders on match day 6 of the competition.
