Nigeria winger Chidera Ejuke put up an outstanding display by proving why he is a key player for Vaalerenga by scoring twice on Sunday as they easily overcame Ranheim 5-1 in their Eliteserien week eight tie at the EXTRA Arena.
Ejuke, 21, was demoted to the second team last season and he showed why the manager was wrong by making it four goals in eight matches in this campaign.
The Pride of Oslo dominated right from the start, with Ejuke scoring the last two goals.
Matthias Vilhjalmsson and Deyver Vega released the brakes and made the score 0-2 in favour of the Bohemians.
Michael Karlsen’s well dispatched spot kick reduced the tally for the home team.
Deyver soon had his brace as Vaalerenga restored their two-goal cushion.
Ejuke narrowly failed to connect with Deyver’s floated cross from the left-hand side, but when he was presented with a better opportunity 17 minutes before full time the winger successfully scored his third goal of the season. He gleefully swept home the loose ball from inside the penalty box at injury time.
