Umar Sadiq open goal account for Perugia in thriller

Date:

On-loan AS Roma striker Umar Sadiq drew the curtain raiser for Perugia Calcio in their Italian Serie B game against Venezia on Wednesday night, reports Footballlive.ng.

In the entertaining game that made fans ask for more, Perugia Calcio did well to pick a 3-2 victory away from home.
The lanky Umar opened his goal account for the Grifoni in the entertaining cracker at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo.
His compatriot Kingsley Michael wasn’t listed for the week 26 encounter.
After an unsuccessful spell at Glasgow Rangers, Umar decided to continue his development back in Italy.
He sealed a loan move from Italian Serie A giants AS Roma to Serie B side Perugia Calcio in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old forward was initially loaned out to Scottish Premier League giants Glasgow Rangers in a deal meant to keep him for the entirety of the season.
However, Sadiq could not impress Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as he struggled for game time and consistency on the field.
Gerrard reportedly was fed up with Umar which eventually led to the termination of the loan deal six months early as Rangers recruited veteran England striker Jermain Defoe.
Umar has been a fringe player with Roma ever since he joined the Italian giants with numerous loan spells across Europe.
