Umar Sadiq had things going for him when he completed the move from UD Almeria to Real Sociedad for €20 Million Euros.

In his first match for his new side, Sadiq scored the equalizer and was set to immediately banish the memories of Alexander Isak, who joined Newcastle, but prospect was dashed almost immediately.

Two games into life at his new Club, the Forward pulled up injured in the 38th minute of Real Sociedad’s LaLiga match against Getafe.

Further tests showed that the Nigerian had ruptured his Cruciate Ligament and it rules him out of action for seven months, so far.

In an interview with the Hindsight podcast, the striker revealed that he is feeling very positive with his recovery, and described his routine since after the surgery to his ACL injury.

“Yeah, I’m good, I’m feeling good now. I am starting to feel much better. I hope in soon that I’ll be ready.

“I’ve been doing this for the past 7 months, going to the gym, treatment, and going for exams. It has not been easy, but that is my situation and I have to accept it so that I can be back stronger,” he added.

“I’ve been doing some things outside alone. It’s just a matter of time and I’ll be with the team. So it’s remaining just one more step for me to recover and be with the team.”

When asked if it could take weeks or a month for his return, Sadiq responded, “Something like that, but I can’t say it depends on how much I feel.”

“It depends on how I feel. It’s been seven months. And you know ACL injury is from the seventh month to the ninth month, so for now, it’s just a matter of time. If I feel good, I will be with the team, and we’ll know if I will play,” the Forward concluded.
