UCL: Zaidu Sanusi grabs second Chance to help FC Porto pick first win in Group B

FC Porto were a better version of themselves on Tuesday night than the one that faced Liverpool a fortnight ago at the Estádio do Dragão, even Zaidu Sanusi’s performance was much improved.

Although there was no player in the ilk of Mohamed Salah for the Rossoneri, Stefano Pioli still had the compliment of his biggest names – Olivier Giroud, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Bennacer and co – in the game and it didn’t stop the Italian side from defeat.
The Porto defence restricted Milan to just four shots the entire game and only one was on target, which was in the first half.
For the young Nigerian, Sanusi, he was introduced off the bench after the interval for Wendell, who had picked up a knock in the first half.
If it was an opportunity to regain the trust of Sergio Conceição, then he was quite convincing and put in in the shift.
He made 2 Tackles, 1 block and won 1 aerial duel in addition to his 6 pressing counts, 2 shots and several attacking contributions.
Unlike the distraught figure he cut after his substitution against Liverpool, this time around, when the final whistle sounded Zaidu Sanusi held up his head, proud of his contribution.
But could be even more confident to get his season back on track as he helped Porto register their first win in this season’s UCL which puts them in third spot behind Liverpool and tied on points with second placed Atletico Madrid.
