Nigeria’s U23 team lost 3-0 to local amateur side, VIA Football Academy at the Adamasingba Stadium, on Thursday.
The Nigeria U23 team is camped in Ibadan and Salisu Yusuf tested his boys against the Ibadan side, but we’re no match for the amateur side.
Ibrahim Ayoola got a double for VIA Football Academy and Wahab Adebayo also got on the score sheet in the win.
The friendly match is in preparation for the Dream Team’s clash against Tanzania U23.
Tanzania will host the first leg of 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on October 22, while the return fixture will be on October 29, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Salisu Yusuf invited 32 players to camp and he is already putting them through their paces with the friendly game.
The team will depart the country on October 18 for Dar es Salaam for the first- leg of the U23 AFCON qualifier.
