Egypt defeated Mali in the opening game of the 2019 CAF U-23 African Cup of Nations on Friday.
Egypt defeated Mali 1-0 at the Cairo International stadium, courtesy Mostafa Mohamed’s first half (29′) strike.
In the other Group A game, Cameroon and Ghana played out a 1:1 draw also on Friday.
Cameroon took lead shortly after the resumption of the second, Franck Junior Evina was the goal scorer.
Ghana leveled up through Habib Mohammed’s 87th minutes strike.
Egypt is leading the table with 3 points, Cameroon and Ghana stays second and third with a point each, while Mali is at the bottom of the standing without a point.
