Nigerian midfielder Olabiran Muyiwa says the team has what it takes to defend their crown at the 2019 U-23 African Cup of Nations.

Imama Amapakabo’s side will face Ivory Coast on Saturday in the Group B opener, before facing Zambia and South Africa.

The Ivorian-born Olabiran is convinced that the Eagles have what it takes to rule the continent once more.

“I think we have all it takes to rule Africa during this tournament because of what we have put into preparation before coming to Egypt.

“As a team we know what is as stake and we can’t afford not to achieve our aims and objectives here.

“The target is not only to qualify for Tokyo 2020 summer Olympics in Japan but to also lift the trophy.

“Nigeria has done it before so I think we can do it as well and we have all it takes to achieve our dreams, when you consider the level of our preparation and the way we played during the qualifiers,” He said.

Best three placed team at the end of the tournament will represent Africa in Tokyo 20202 Olympic games.
