Solomon Agbalaka believes Nigeria deserved the win against Egypt because the team put in the work.
Nigeria pipped Egypt 1-0 in their second group A fixture at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations match.
Agbalaka’s thumping header was enough to get all three points for the Flying Eagles to get their campaign on track after an opening day loss to Senegal.
In his reflections, the Left-back, who was voted Man-of-match, said there was a collective determination turn the team’s fortune around, particularly after the defeat to on Matchday 1.
Along side Agbalaka, Ladan Bosso’s side also had goalkeeper Chijoke Anigboso, who made three vital saves in the game, to thank for their victory.
“We deserved to win,” Agbalaka said after the game. “We worked very hard, so I would like to thank my coach and all my colleagues for their efforts.”
The Flying Eagles return to action on Saturday when they face Mozambique in their final group game of the tournament.
