Bankole Olowookere and his girls took one step closer to reaching the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup with a comfortable 8-0 aggregate win against DR Congo.

The Flamingoes picked apart their counterparts 3-0 in the first leg away at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa and then added salt to that injury with a more mind blowing performance in Benin City.
A five-goal routing completed the perfect response to more than a week of preparation for Olowookere’s side.
Saturday’s result is the third joint biggest result by any Nigerian U17 Women’s team.
The Coach himself showered some praise on his girls and their response in the game.
“We scored early in this game; in the 4th minute, which is an indication that they understood what I told them in preparation for the game,” said the Coach after the game.
“They gave their best and I appreciate them for understanding me and playing to my instruction.
“In our practice before this game we had one eye on the Congolese and one eye on the Egyptians. We watched some of their clips and we’ll watch some more.”
Next up for the Flamingoes is a double header against Egypt in the third round of the qualifiers.
