U17 World Cup: Sports Minister Reacts to Nigeria’s Defeat to Australia

Nigeria’s Sports Minister Sunday Dare has praised the attitude of the Eaglets at the FIFA U17 World Cup despite their 2-1 defeat to Australia on Friday.

Australia beat Nigeria courtesy a brace from Noah Botic, and picked their first win of the tournament.

 

In spite of the defeat, Minister of Sports Sunday Dare praised the team performance in his tweet after the game.

 

‘’ Golden Eaglets. Even In defeat our boys played good football. The game gets tougher with each match but our boys will prevail “

 

 

Nigeria will return to action in the round of 16, on November 5 against the third placed team from either group A/C/D.
