Golden Eaglets head coach, Nduka Ugbade, anticipates a challenging match-up on Saturday against South Africa at the 2023 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.

In their last Group B match at the Stade Mohammed Hamlaoui, the Eaglets will face the Amajimbos having lost their second match of the tournament to Morocco via an own goal.

The Eaglets have three points after two games and are in second place in Group B.

Just one point will guarantee Ugbade’s team a spot in the tournament’s quarter finals.

The Amajimbo and Golden Eaglets have the same points total, but the latter have a better goal differential.

“We are prepared against South Africa, we saw the game they played against Zambia, totally different from the first one,” Ugbade said in the pre-match conference.

“When you look critically at the situation, the two of them met at the COSAFA and Zambia won 1-0. I’ve seen the whole team, very strong team, my concern is more about development.”

“We are not concerned because we prepared for this and we hope that in the third game, there will be goals because we are prepared and concerned we are dealing with it.

“It’s psychology. You never can say how they are going to react but we are prepared.”
