Nigerian Defender William Troost-Ekong and his Udinese side were humiliated, 7-1 by Atalanta in a Serie A match on Sunday.
Udinese played with 10-men for 58 minutes of the game, and were exposed defensively, in one of the highest scoring games of the Serie A in recent years, and there was nothing Troost-Ekong could do about it.
The Super Eagles Center Half played all 90minutes but his side couldn’t cope with the relentlessness of the home team’s attackers.
It seemed a fair battle in the early minutes of exchanges when Stefano Okaka scored the opener 12 minutes in, to fire the visitors into the lead.
Nine minutes later the hosts were level and it all went downhill afterwards for Udinese as the sending off of Nicholas Opoku left a gaping vacuum in the Udinese defence.
Troost-Ekong was overwhelmed and his rating per Whoscored.com was a reflection of how underwhelming the Nigerian fared (4.8).
