Anthony Nwakaeme and Mikel Obi both starred, playing 90 minutes each for Trabzonspor in the 2-2 draw with Genclerbirligi.
Nwakaeme (7.3) and Mikel (7.0) scored well above average on the night, but couldn’t help their side pick maximum points.
Trabzonspor Manager Ünal Karaman handed ne signing Daniel Sturridge his debut, with the former Chelsea and Liverpool forward coming off the bench in the second-half.
The side gave up the lead twice, having gone ahead first in the 17th minute through Filip Novak. The home side were pegged back just before the break.
In the second-half, Alexander Sorloth scored from the penalty spot to restore Trabzonspor’s lead, however with 5 minutes of regulation time left, Benin Republic star Stephane Sessegnon pulled his side level.
Both teams will eventually settle for a share of the spoils at the Medical Park Stadium.
