Former Super Eagles midfielder and AFCON winner, Sunday Mba has opined that the team are in a rather tough group however, will qualify into the knock out stages of the competition.

Mba noted that given the quality of teams housed in Group A, he suggested that the Super Eagles not take any chances by underrating the supposed minnows as they have quality in their own right

“That group is not going to be easy for Nigeria because everybody is preparing. In fact everybody going to AFCON now is ready and prepared.

“So, I think that group is a tough group, kind of. But hopefully Nigeria will qualify for that group, but it’s not going to be easy to do.”

Sunday Mba’s goal against Ivory Coast got Nigeria to the semi-final of the 2013 edition of the AFCON in South Africa and he went further to score the lone goal that clinched the title in the 1-0 win against Burkina Faso.
