Torino Provide Scary Details Of Ola Aina’s Injury

Date:

AS Torino have provided scary details of the injury that has kept their summer loan signing from Chelsea, Ola Aina out of this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier for Nigeria against Seychelles.

Aina had been hoping to make a huge impact on his recall to the Super Eagles, following his inability to make the World Cup list, but Torino stated on Monday that he has to be excused from Saturday’s match in Victoria, Seychelles because of a muscle strain in his left thigh.

The Turin-based side disclosed that Aina was forced out of action on Monday night, after getting a muscular injury during their 1-0 win over SPAL in the Serie A.

Torino added that more tests are needed to ascertain the extent of the damage to the left femoral bicep of the defender, and he will not be able to attend international duty for the Eagles in Saturday’s game against The Pirates of Seychelles.

Torino disclosed in a statement: “The scans to which Ola Aina was subjected to showed a small muscular problem to the biceps femoris of the left thigh which prevented the player from ending the match last night against SPAL.

“Because of this, Nigeria (was) immediately informed by the medical staff (that they) have renounced the call of the full-back who was supposed to participate in the game against the Seychelles scheduled for 8 September.”
