Too little! Adetunji scores but Shkupi’s European football dreams dimmed

Sunday Adetunji scored the consolation goal on Tuesdays night as Shkupi were eliminated from the Europa League 5-2 on aggregate by Shamrock Rovers.

Trailing 2-0 in the second leg of the encounter, Adetunji found the back of the net in the closing minutes of stoppage time, but it was too little too late in Skopje to salvage anything.
The Macedonian champions had Ben beaten roundly, 3-1, in the reverse fixture and knew they needed a big response to keep hope alive.
However, it wasn’t to be because they failed to take their chances , having been the better side in possession, chances created and attempts in the first half.
Shamrock Rovers duly punished them with a sharper second half display scoring in the 65th minute to extend their aggregate lead and beyond doubt in the 85th when they added the second.
Adetunji then turn up with his second goal in Europe this season – adding to his tally from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
His goal in the 90+4′ saved face for Shkupi, who will now continue their chase for Continental football in the Europa Conference League.
