After missing the double friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador, Leon Balogun rejoined the Super Eagles camp and trained under new head Coach Jose Peseiro for the first time as the team prepares for the AFCON qualifiers.

Balogun described his time back as enjoyable and weighs in on the early impact of the new Coach crew.
He opened up on the reason for missing the friendlies in the USA, explaining he picked up an injury on the weekend before camp resumed.
The 33 year-old was on club duties with Rangers in the Scottish Cup final and suffered a knock.
“It’s been sometime and it’s always nice to be here it’s always good vibes; always enjoyable,” the CB told FL.
“I recovered from a little knock I got from the Scottish Cup final and I just consulted with the Managing team and they just said make sure you’re fit for the qualifiers and that was it pretty much.”
On his impression on Peseiro, Balogun said, “Well, it’s always exciting and interesting to see what he comes up with; what kind of fresh air he brings to the team.”
“But I’ve only been here for two days, only had one session, so it’s a bit early to really make a judgment.”
“First impression has been nice, they’re very open, very friendly and they’re trying to get used to what Nigeria is about, I’m looking forward to that.”
